Blasphemy, Fanaticism and Asia Bibi

I would gladly like to remind you that I am a Muslim and I love my religion. I would also like to remind you that I have no relations with people behind the innocent killings. In recent months, the case of Asia Bibi has woken up many minds. Many minds who assume religion as a way to salvation, as a way to making human beings, as a way to establishing harmony , as a way to spreading happiness, peace and equality. Can we say these characteristics match with those happened with Asia Bibi? To my opinion , a big No. By the name Asia Bibi seems to be a Muslim however she is a Christian hailing from Pakistan. She was charged with blasphemy and living in fear for life while awaiting a government decision in a dark prison of some Pakistani Jail. She was supported by a progressive and true Muslim - Salman Taseer (the governor of Punjab) and consequently paid his price of being human. He was killed. The message - Muslims can bear with none where the question of their faith arises.

I remind one small event when I asked one simple question to a friend of mine. The question was whether my beard I would grow could grow to the size of a broom that might be used to sweep the floor. The question put me in danger. The friend of mine was in mood to kill me. The question was just a query out of my curiosity. To everyone's utter surprise the friend of mine did not pronounce even first Kalima of Islam ( La Ilaha Illallah Muhammadur Rasoolullah - There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger) . I have cited this event just to show the real pictures of people behind this fanaticism. Fanaticism is not related with Islam in any means. There is no room for these people in the edifice of Islam. Islam is a religion of love , brotherhood, justice and equality. I would like to cite some very important quotations quoted by some non-Muslims thinkers and philosophers. They are -

Mahatma Gandhi, statement published in 'Young India,'1924.
I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind.... I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the second volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of that great life.

Sir George Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine Islam,' Vol. 1, No. 8, 1936.
"If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be Islam."
“I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity."
"I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”

Michael Hart in 'The 100, A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons In History,' New York, 1978.
My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world’s most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the secular and religious level. ...It is probable that the relative influence of Muhammad on Islam has been larger than the combined influence of Jesus Christ and St. Paul on Christianity. ...It is this unparalleled combination of secular and religious influence which I feel entitles Muhammad to be considered the most influential single figure in human history.

Arthur Glyn Leonard in 'Islam, Her Moral and Spiritual Values'
It was the genius of Muhammad, the spirit that he breathed into the Arabs through the soul of Islam that exalted them. That raised them out of the lethargy and low level of tribal stagnation up to the high watermark of national unity and empire. It was in the sublimity of Muhammad's deism, the simplicity, the sobriety and purity it inculcated the fidelity of its founder to his own tenets, that acted on their moral and intellectual fiber with all the magnetism of true inspiration.

There is no dearth of statements like as the above for Muhammad. Alas! These words are diminishing now. And responsibility goes directly to those who are doing all this.
Asia Bibi is a simple case of relive. What she said was out of anger and resentment. She should be bailed out with honour in the light of this verse from the Quran –

“But do not revile those (beings) whom they invoke instead of God, lest they, in their hostility, relive God out of ignorance.” (6:108)

There are numerous examples when Muhammad was insulted, abused and even bruised but he neither suggested any sort of punishment nor he took any sort of revenge. In return, those who tried to abuse and insult him, embraced Islam and later proved to be asset for this great religion. There is no room for death sentence for blasphemy in Islam. Islam is religion of God. And Muhammad is the best and most loving messenger of God. Let God decide what He should do who abuses His darling. Beware! He will not leave those even who are doing all this in the name of Allah and His messenger.

Note for Muslims : Whenever name of Muhammad comes we should say Peace Be Upon Him) followed by his name. For non-Muslims it is not essential. It is on their discretion.

Life is beautiful!!

There are many species on this universe,
Some fly, some swim, some hibernate,
God has created one species – human being,
And he can do all those, he is bestowed with such strength.

There are many humans who have all,
Beautiful house, luxurious car, happy family , heavy bank balance,
Still they look like gloomed,
and think about what they do not have.

They are those who steal their own happiness,
Crying over spilt milk ,
Unaware of the gems they have,
In search of the worthless.

They forget all what they are blessed with,
Look at all curses in their life,
Actually they try to find out miseries,
To tell people they want their sympathy.

GOD is great and benevolent,
Because they are alive, despite being offender,
Had it been the law of the land,
They would be called traitor.

Friends, this life is beautiful,
Live with all what you have,
Cheer up with the little,
Worry not about those, what you do not have.
Note: If you want to strive for something to achive, strive for happiness.

Common Man

I am a common man,
I wake up at 5,
to win a bread,
ready to strive.

I am a common man,
work hard for all day,
worry in the evening,
breads how will I lay?

I am a common man,
one head for my nation,
unaware of its glory,
in search of some ration.

I am a common man,
vote for someone special,
he wins , i lose everytime,
however don't care about my label.

I am a common man,
die unlamented, unattended,
but when he dies,
feel orphaned and sad.
(Contd...)

Money Plant

Gomti asked Phool Waala to bring money plant for her the next day. She had heard about money plant a lot of myths like money plant grown inside home brings home money in abundance and as the creepers grow the home gets prosperous. She has herself seen her neighbor Mrs. Sharma, how poor they were before they had planted it.

Phool Waale, should you forget to bring the plant tomorrow?

No never, I must not ! It is my business.

I am afraid you will not keep my demand in mind!

What else if you won't bring it tomorrow?

One thing I do! I shall not pay for the flowers you have given today! OK

No Bibiji, Do not do like this. I am a poor man. I dig well everyday and take water.

But I am not taking your money for ever! It is only a matter of less than a day.

It is a matter of only one day for you but for me It is a matter of food for my wife and my five children.

OK! But Had I not bought your flowers where would you have bought food for your wife and children.

God manages for us and I am sure He would manage

But how would you ensure me that you would not forget the plant!

By my children, I will take it tomorrow!

After a long persuasion she paid but warned she would not buy again anything from him if he would not come next day

Next morning was a great waiting period for him since the early morning.

See if the phool waala has come, she asks her boy, Raj when the bell rings

Mummy No Phul Waala, Doodh Waala has come. Bring the can and take milk. I am going for some urgent work and the door I have kept open.

Oh the boy must be a dare devil one day! Stupid

She ran, for nothing would go stolen

She was cooking and the bell rang

Coming, coming. It must be Phool Waala

She opens the door in a hurry without seeing who the person is through the door eye

Hello Mam, I am from Maya Detergent Powder. Mam I am doing M.B.A. and I am doing this work for two reasons - for experience and for points I get from selling that adds to my final marks.

But I can not buy it for experience nor do I want any points from you

I am busy. Go from here please! She closes the door with a loud sound

But Mam. It is a matter of my career

But not of mine.

Mam, excuse me. It is quite for free

Free! What do you mean?

Mam It is really for free. Let me in, open the door.

She opens the door thinking what harm if she gets something for free. It seems thinking even of moneyplant has started working

OK Come in Please

Madam, Let me introduce first. I am Manoj from Mahipal Institute of Business Management. I am a student of final semester of M.B.A.

Oh you mean you are an M.B.A.

Yes, of course

But you do not look so

Here is my I- Card from my Institute

Oh really.

Well tell me about what are you offering me for free?

Here One Kg detergent, six detergent soaps, six toilet soaps and this 100 ml shampoo is also for not a single penny

Oh My goodness! She gets crazy thinking what would be after she will have the money plant in her home when even she is getting in lieu of only planning for it

Excuse me Madam, but for that sake, you have to do only one thing. You have to fill in the form that is only record sake for the company.

OK Do hurry!

OK Just tell me what I ask. I jot it down now and shall fill the form later.

Your Name Please –

Mrs. Gomti

Your Hubby's Name -

Hubby?

Yeah… means husband

OK. He is Mr. Arvinda Sharma

Where does he work?

He is a Sales Manager in Tata Indi Comm

Where is he right now?

What?

I mean where he works.

He works at Delhi

May I meet him if you please. As we have some shaving cream and perfume for him again for no charge.

But why do you offer your products for free.

It is time of advertisement Mam. And our company is an American one and we do not believe in channel advertisement . We make customers believe in our products by using them for free.

Oh great company, No?

Yes very great!

But I am sorry. He does not live here. I and my 7 year old boy live here. And he comes once a month.

Can I get these products for him? He will be happy to see all this for free and certainly he will use yours.

OK , But for that I have to ask my boss for this and if he allows I may come with my boss to give you these products in the evening.

But why your boss, why not you can come alone also?

My boss suspects all his boys and in this case he wants to get satisfied. After all you know American companies are very sincere about their customer services.

OK, No problem.

OK then Madam, See you in the evening. I am sure you will buy next time these products with your money because this does not happen time and again.

Soon the sales man passed the phoolwaala came.

Oh you are late but in right time. Had you come earlier I would have lost my good business.

Have you brought that?

Yes Bibiji . Here this is.

Oh wonderful, how much is it?.

Give me 10 rupees only.

Not a bad price. Take it, and thank you very much.

I should rather say thanks to you Mam for not bargaining for this.

She is very happy. It is really a good omen.

Let me plant it and see how I challenge Mrs. Sharma who is really jealous of us.

She planted and when her boy returned home she exaggerated her victory. She told how she got these products for free befooling the man

You know my son, the man was so impressed that he has given me these products and moreover he has promised to take some more for your Papa.

Wow really great you are, Mom!

Now, Papa can be proud of you.

He must be, my son.

And you know why all this happened. Certainly because of the effects of this money plant.

Oh, you will see how we make all our neighbors realize we are no more less than them even richer and more intelligent.

OK , my son they are to come this evening . Be civilized. Dare not do any mischief.

It was 7 o'clock. Dark grew around the earth. She is waiting eagerly for her fate. She was observing the surrounding as such a pin drop may sound loud. She was overwhelmed with the imagination of the effects of money plant. She must be imagining even a fine car, a bigger house and diamond jewelry, tour to foreign and a lot more. This would continue if the bell would not have rung. She rushed to the door and opened and welcomed them in a very courteous manner . This time both were holding a briefcase. She already had met the sales man and the other she quickly recognized as his boss.

Good Evening Madam, Meet my boss Mr. Joseph.

Good Evening, Come and sit.

They sat. Call if somebody is inside or somewhere in your house. We have products some thing for everybody ranging from child to young and old even.

OK. I call my son. He is only except me in the house.

Call your boy.

As she went inside, both talked about something and they held their back in the chair. Mrs. Gomti came with her boy Raj. Say Pranam to Uncles. They have something for you also.

Pranam Uncle! What have you got for me?

Sit both of you in the chair and see what we have brought for you. They opened their briefcase and took out something.

Here this is for you for free

They stunned. Pistol?

Yes and that too with a silencer. If you shout, We will definitely give you one bullet quite for free.

They hurriedly tie his hands with the chair behind he was sitting in and stick tape on his lips so that he may not sound. And one of them took the lady to the room inside, and warned if she spoke loudly and did not hand him over the valuables, her boy may get injury, even killed.

What could she have done more. She could not help but open the almirah. What happened further is not worth telling.

Whole night she could not sleep but repent on her foolish belief. Superstition was no more in her minds. Next morning she saw money plant laughing at her.

Love - An Eternal Feeling

Love, love and love
What it is!!
Nobody can know, nor one can define,
Nor one can feel
Nor even one can understand
Who have never loved.

Love is divinity
Love is faith
Love is spirit
Love is innocence

If you are in love
You can understand what means when somebody parts with you,
If you are in love
You can feel, pain is more severe than the most dreadful surgery of your part,
If you are in love
You can know, what violence costs,
If you are in love
You are near to holiness,
If you are in love
You are dear to the world,
If you are in love
You are near to GOD!!

Love claims for nothing
Love blames for nothing
Love desires for nothing
Love aspires for nothing

Love is like a river
That flows across
Keeping malice towards none
Spreading peace and prosperity for everyone

Love is what we can not buy
Love is what nobody can try
Love makes no one cry
Love is all what make you fly

In the dreamland of happiness
In the heart of heavenly feelings
In the treasure of Godly essence
In the river of purity and innocence!!!

Maulvi Sahib

Maulvi Sahib is watching movie with great passion and joy. A romantic movie is screening on a big LCD idiot box that was kept stealthily from public eyes in Maluvi Sahib’s house.

The actor is preparing to get the actress into romantic mood in the scene. Actor starts holding the actress and starts smooching.

Wow, what a great romantic scene!! Maulvi Sahib thrills.

What are you crying for? Enquires begum of Maulvi Sb.

Come, come, see what a great scene of love this is, begum!

I am cooking. I can’t come to watch your non-sense. May Allah take care of you!
Go to the hell.

I know, who will go to the hell. Begum responds with no delay.

Maulvi Sahib does not want to lose this great opportunity which has taken him to the journey of Heaven among the fairies and too not after death, just alive. So he kept mum and started staring on the screen saying Kambakht (Short lived).

He was totally mingled with the scene as if he himself was indulged in romance with the heroine.

Oh, no, stop this, Allah is watching all your misdeeds. His wife screams in disgust.

He shut the television with a quite worried face and asks his wife who has watched.
I said, Allah is watching.

Be curse upon you! I thought somebody from public has watched this deed of mine. Had anybody seen watching me television, all my income from preaches would have rightly stopped.

Maulvi sb. could not collect courage to start television again and started counting names of the almighty. Astaghfirullah (May Allah Forgive Me!)
